This weekend, I helped my family to throw a surprise party celebrating my grandparents' 60th anniversary and their 80th birthdays. I got to plan the menu (which also came along with the responsibility of making it all.. whew!). I wanted to share with you some of the fun stuff we made- I'll share some of the recipes in the coming week.
Homemade Peach Tea
Homemade Berry Lemonade
Roasted Vegetable Pasta Salad
Fresh Chicken Salad on Multigrain
Turkey and Cheddar on Croissants
Ham and Swiss Baguettes
Fresh Fruit Salad
Lemon Meringue Pie Cupcakes
Busy Day Cupcakes
(my grandma's original recipe for yellow cake with broiled brown sugar and coconut frosting)
Shoofly Cupcakes
(an Amish country molasses-based cake with crumb topping- the cake version of the classic Amish pie)
All of the food sounds delicious! I especially like the idea for Shoofly cupcakes... My mom used to make Shoofly pie all of the time when I was a kid, but I haven't had it in years!
